THE WILDERNESS CHILDREN ON VINYL - 1988

This was the 2nd single released by The Wilderness Children.
It was recorded in December 1988 at the Chamber Studios in Edinburgh.
Line-up - Andrea Reid - Fraser Reid - Peter Moug - Phil Davidson - Mike Kane.
The record sleeve graphics were done by Laura Anne Walker (remember the DRCU creche artwork?), and photography by Joe Jordan featured on the inner lyric sheet.
So here below is the A-side, a frisky little indie number called "Plastic Bag From Tesco's"

  9. the Wilderness Children did not think they/we were 'confrontational' ! it was a fun punk rock band , we were doing nothing new! ,if we/me called the audience cunts I have no memory of it, it was the one band I was in that were usually drunk or on drugs at gigs (apart from Andrea the sensible one) , most of us did not really remember playing gigs (me phil and fraser), but it was fun, actually Andrea is most likey to called the audience cunts and she is now a head teacher so she was probably right as all teachers are.

  12. Hey. I'm looking for "The Wilderness Children".
Sometime in the 80's, I bought a C90 cassette in the Dens Rd Market for 40p. I was going to use it as a blank but I listened to it first. There were three songs on it and I fell in love with one of them, something about a "violent little satellite".
I cleaned it up on cubase and I'm going to do a cover of it for you-tube. I always wondered who wrote it. If you know, let me know.
Check out my website www.scottieshow.com or you-tube "scottie dundee".

  14. I was looking around for stuff on the WIlderness Children. I did a couple of cartoons for them in the 80s. One for the 1988 EP. I've resurrected that here: http://onepieceaweek.blogspot.com/2010/12/oh-yeah-whatd-i-say.html.

I found out. too, that Fraser Reid died quite recently. Note by John Miller here: http://www.myspace.com/johnmillerandhiscountrycasuals/blog/440667282.

I worked with Fraser in Dundee when him and Andrea lived in Mid Craigie. I was working in the area then. I also did cartoons for Street Life about the same time.

    Glum news.
