The health & safety folk nowadays would be having kittens - a flimsy bit of line is all that seems to be separating the public from a demolition that appears to be in progress.

ReplyDeleteWhat are those skylights behind the rubble? Is that the newly built Wellgate?
ReplyDeleteIf you check the photo taken of the city centre from the air in the May Archives, you'll see that all of Victoria Road and Wellgate was clear before building commenced, so it will be the back of the old Wellgate rather than the new Wellgate.
