THE JUNKIES FLYER

This is typical of the kind of image you'd see splattered up around town on the multitude of boarded up windows, which was a common sight in Dundee in the early 80's.
The Junkies flyer - designed by Jock Ferguson.

  1. I've heard a lot about this band, but never saw them play live, did they do many gigs ?

  2. Quite a few. They were difficult to avoid in the early 80s.

  3. Wish they were still around now to put some oomph into the current Dundee band scene. Am sure the likes of Dukes Corner / DCA would love them he he he.

  7. Alison is indeed still playing live to large crowds , but her audience is now jazz rather than punk ,I dont think she denies or forgets her punk roots , she has just moved on and evolved as a lot of punks did , look at PIL or WIRE (not comparing Alison to these bands! just an example) people do move on and explore , Alison was one of the first Punks in Dundee that I met , her and leslie (you know who you are!) but has found her place as a Jazz singer and as far as i know doing quite well - just as well as she was a shit Bass player !!

  8. .
Alison and Lesley were two of the punk regulars at the Bowlin' Alley in the late 70s.

Lesley now posts in the Dundee Forum as "Lesley G".
