THE GALLEON BAR - EXTERIOR

A little reminder of the curvy exterior of The Galleon in Whitehall Crescent. A pub I used to drop in on now and again rather than regularly. In fact, looking back, I think I only went there when there were bands playing, that would have been in the late 70's early 80's.
The main reason why it wasn't a "regular" so to speak, was probably down to the basic fact that it was quite difficult to get around ALL the pubs, all the time...although there were quite a few of us who gave it a good go..!!

  1. I think the new owners have changed the frontage, which is a shame, as it looks like a real pub from the outside and there's not too many of them left in Dundee these days.

    2. The Chart Room wasn't the pub's name. It was the Galleon's upstairs area.

    2. Billy was my Dad's cousin, so I guess we are related somewhere along the line! Last time I saw him was when he was living in Dundee prior to moving down south. That must have been around 1990 or so. He used to come down to Edinburgh to stay with us sometimes.
My mum had a matchbox for years, which said 'Brannan's Bar'...was that the same premises as The Galleon? My dad would have known but he sadly passed away several years ago.
