In the early 80's, the Caird Hall was filmed doubling as a Moscow theatre in a play by Alan Bennett called "An Englishman Abroad", about communist spy Guy Burgess. It was broadcast on TV, Tuesday 29th November 1983 on BBC.Also in the hour long film are scenes filmed in Exchange Street and Dundee High School.
