And so we reach the moment the Tay Road Bridge officially opened.The event, which was broadcast live on TV, took place around midday on Thursday 18th August 1966.

Is my memory playing tricks or was there a firework display to celebrate the opening. I seem to remember being at this along Riverside near or on the airport site at night.
