A-Z OF THE HILLTOWN - 1989

"This is a local book, for local people!" could have been the phrase used when this publication came out - an A-Z Of The Hilltown, published in 1989.
There were a few contributors involved but Niall McA Robertson is the chap getting the credit on the front cover.
I've put the index up on view to give you an idea of the variety of content inside its 50 pages - history, trade, buildings, characters, photos, pubs etc - just in case some of you fancy tracking down a copy, because it's a very useful reference source.
It was even produced locally within the Hulltoon boundaries, by the Grey Lodge Urban Printers.

GREYLODGE BENEFIT GIG - 1987

This flyer was for a benefit gig put on to help raise funds for a recording studio at the Greylodge Centre, which was tucked away in the Wellington Street / South George Street area, just off Victoria Road.
There were a handful of these benefit gigs around the 1986-88 period, with this one here (which took place on 31st January 1987) featuring the following bands - Chumbawamba - The Next World - Heavy Discipline - Redemption - Rodney Relax & the Dead Loss Angels, and Vex.
All that for £1.50!
I missed out on this do, but I'm sure Mike Kane will be able to fill in a few details about the event.
Thanks to MK
