McLEISH BROS - ARCADE - EARLY 70'S

One of the well known shops in the city arcade in Shore Terrace was McLeish Brothers, who were a fishmonger/wee grocer.
This used to be the spot of another popular fishmonger, Cantrell's, but McLeish Bros took over in the early 70's, around about the time of this image.

  1. Just as I remember it! It was Sam McLeish’s originally. In the seventies we had a neurotic and demanding tortoiseshell cat that would eat nothing but fresh whole haddock sourced from this very stall. That animal was probably single-handedly responsible for the collapse of North Sea stocks.
