RICICLES - TWICICLES AS NICICLES

I can't remember now whether this EP had to be sent away for (3 packet tops & a 2/6 Postal Order!) or if it came free with a box of Ricicles. The Kellogg's sellotape may suggest it was stuck to the box. Anyway, it is dated 1966 and has 5 tunes on it, including the well known TV advert song for Ricicles - "Twicicles As Nicicles", and is basically a wee adventure Noddy has going to the shops.
I used to have another Ricicles EP from the same period in which Noddy & co go out to sea, but many years later, when aged about 18, my mate borrowed it, and I never saw it again!
Although the record is for kids, the songs were composed by music biz heavyweight, Ron Goodwin, famous for his 60's tunes made at Abbey Road with George Martin, as well as scoring loads of film soundtracks.
You may not have heard the TV ad song since the 60's, but bet you'll still be able to sing along with it!

  6. Like others, the lyric indelibly imprinted on my brain! Never thought I'd hear it again because the flexi record it came on was lost long ago-many thanks

  7. thanks for this. My mother actress Denise Bryer was the original voice of noddy and it is a treat to hear doing this again. Cannot wait to play it to her she will be amazed.

  9. My younger brother folded the blue plastic disc in half and we still managed to play it on the old gramophone! After 45 years it is fantastic to be able to hear this again - I have never forgotten the words and have taught them to my three boys too!

  10. Just picked up a copy of Kelloggs "Noddy at the Seaside" 1968 on ebay which I enjoyed as a 5 year old in Dundee. Will try to post it on YouTube. Tracks include:

    The Chuff-Chuff Song
    Tiddlywinks-on-Sea for Me
    In a Little Motor Boat
    Oh Noddy! Ring Your Bell
    I'm Jolly Mister Sailor

  11. I had the one where they go out to sea, a floppy sort of disk, I loved it as a child and sing the song to my kids now. I am not sure what happened to it, mum may have kept it,I will check in her loft next time I am back in UK.

  12. I was just thinking about the other
EP you mention - Noddy goes to Tiddlywinks on sea the other day and did a quick Google to arrive here. Any idea if that ones available to listen to on the net anywhere?

  13. I still have this record. Mine came by post as I still have the original envelope with the postage franked at 4d. Must have been a packet tops job! I've never forgotten the words, but didn't realise Ron Goodwin had written the music.
