THE RESTAURANT - REFORM STREET

The not very imaginatively named, "Restaurant", was on the corner of Reform Street and Bank Street.
You may remember it was next door to Betty White's fruit shop.
Although this photo of the Restaurant was taken in the early 70's, by 1974 it had changed into the Corner Coffee House.

  1. we used to go to the cellar bit for coffee and a game of cards when we were plunkin' never saw any spooks but everybody did a sight duck down when new arrivals came in down the very steep stairs on the Bank st side

  2. In the early seventies I would meet my prospective wife there after she got off work at Tinex. We'd always get gammon steak with pineapple on top. Would that be right? I'm need the name for somevwriting I'm doing. don3518@gmail.com
