WAITER WAITER CASSETTE - EARLY 80'S

Dundee indie band, Waiter Waiter, brought out a cassette in the early 80's called "That's No Way To Go-Go", featuring 6 tracks of their own material. None of the song titles were supplied on the cover so the track below will just have to be referred to as track 1. Obviously, because it is an old homemade tape, it is a bit hissy, but it is a good reminder of how they sounded, a sort of cross between the Fire Engines & XTC.
Oh yeah, and they were yet another Tayside Bar band.

  1. Did someone called Alister Hart play with them? I went to college with him and I'm sure that's the band he played in.

  2. Waiter Waiter were one of the best bands at the Tayside Bar at the time. I'm not quite sure why their material has not been heard as far as it should have but the one track here is not their best work. GG will send something better. Scott was their drummer.

  5. Wasn't Mike S in Waiter Waiter, it knida makes sense as he being in the restaurant trade ha ha. A great band again fron the Tayside Bar stable. Some of the new Dundee bands now ought to be forced to listen to some of these bands from that era. This was a real 'scene'. What do we have now, a load of Oasis wannabees. Sad times.

  10. boo hooray, waiter waiter and aaga were by far the best 3 bands in dundee at that time.
the difficulty for dundee bands, even now, is they get no support locally until after they're succesful!
