KUNG FU MANIA - 1973-78

You'll need to click on the image above to read the enlarged version, and as you'll see, Dundee, like the rest of UK, went kung fu crazy in the 70's.
Bruce Lee was the main guy who kicked it all off really, making martial arts popular to a wide audience.
Seeing Bruce's skills for the first time after getting into the X rated film "Enter The Dragon" when still a 15/16 year old schoolboy, was a real thrill.
After that, the local cinemas put kung fu movies on fairly regularly because everyone the caught martial arts bug.
Viewing all of Bruce Lee's films then became a passion, needing to score them off the "must see" list, which I managed to do because the cinemas would show his pre-Dragon re-runs.
During the course, it was obvious that there were loads of martial arts films to enjoy, mostly coming out of Hong Kong and China.
So the local ads above are just samples of movies they screened in the mid to late 70's period.
I'll list them here for reference...
Way Of The Dragon.
The Girl With The Thunderbolt Kick.
The New One-Armed Swordsman.
Legend Of Bruce Lee.
Kung Fu, The Head Crusher.
King Boxer.
Hellfighters Of The East.
Fist Of Fury.
Enter The Dragon.
Dragons Of Death.
King Of Kung Fu.
Chinese Vengeance.
Death Kick.
The Big Zapper.
The Bruce Lee Story.
