The animal track & compass shoes were called Wayfinders. You can see them in my November 2008 Archives, or just stick Wayfinders into the Retro search box. The ad is from 1966. Commandos didn't have any memorable features in particular, but you did get a free badge with a big "C" on.RETRO DUNDEEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07746839418666784001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1075437092819379415.post-2813648064749595292009-10-08T03:07:24.508-07:002009-10-08T03:07:24.508-07:00G.C again

We were signed by Virgin after being reviewed in NME (as Spencer Tracy) by Bob Flynn for a gig in the Tayside bar. Our side project The Chilli peppers (long before the red hot ones), which was basically all members of Danny Wilson plus Allan McGlone on Sax, used to go into the tayside bar after busking sessions where Brian would exchange our coinage for note-age which we would then re-exchange for pint-age and Wallace's pie-age.

ps Clarks Commandos were shoes that we wore as kids. Tv advertised, they had a compass in the sole and animal tracks on the sole.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1075437092819379415.post-32618799450658352722009-10-05T05:14:16.511-07:002009-10-05T05:14:16.511-07:00yes you are wrong. we were almost resident at the ...yes you are wrong. we were almost resident at the TSB.
