I'm pretty sure it is a guy called Danny Boyle - not to be confused with the film director of the same name. He was a lecturer at Constitution Road before success as a writer. He penned a couple of BBC plays in the late 80s - 'Leaving', and 'A View of Harry Clark' and went onto to do a few episodes of Inspector Morse and Hamish Macbeth.
